Work Clubs

Get Ready for Work supports work clubs in Manchester and aims to provide a safe, supportive and friendly atmosphere that assists local residents in their preparation for employment, education, training or volunteering.

As part of Age-Friendly Manchester, Get Ready for Work has made a pledge to ensure that older people have access to meaningful support, information and training if they are looking for work, helping to keep people of all ages represented in the Manchester workforce. For more information on our pledge, please click here.

Our work clubs are drop-in sessions, meaning you don't need to make an appointment and you're able to attend as many times as you need to. The work clubs run by Get Ready for Work are independent of JobCentre Plus; attending the work club is beneficial to your search for work but you can choose to come to the work club.

What happens at a Work Club?

At the work club you have access to IT and the skills and the knowledge of staff and volunteers who are there to support you in your search for work, volunteering, training or education. Get Ready for Work staff members and volunteers are able to help you set up an email, Universal Jobmatch, sign up for job search websites like Indeed and CV Library, make referrals for financial or legal advice and sign-post to courses and training opportunities and much more.
