North and East Manchester Work clubs have a key role in helping job seekers stay focused and motivated in their search for employment and access training, education and volunteering opportunities as a step towards getting into work. Work Club Volunteers will help facilitate the Work Club, supporting other workers and offering computer support. We need volunteers to become:

Computer Support Volunteers
  • Teach basic Computer skills
  • Register with Universal Job Match
  • Create CVs
  • Create  an Email and learn how to use it
  • Search for jobs online and complete application forms
  • Access training, education and volunteer opportunities
  • Raise awareness of the changes the Welfare Benefits system

Work Club Mentors
  • Action Plan
  • Support them to meet their Job Centre requirements
  • Build Confidence and self esteem
  • Help people stay focused and motivated
  • Raise awareness of the changes to the welfare Benefits system
  • Refer and signpost to appropriate Agencies

We offer support and training to all our volunteers and will reimburse travel expenses. A DBS Check (paid for by 4CT) and 2 references are required for the volunteer role.

We support work clubs in various locations in North and East Manchester; Openshaw, Beswick, Gorton, Levenshulme, Clayton, Moston, Harpurhey, Collyhurst, Charlestown and Cheetham Hill. Please click here for details of our work clubs.
